As many of you know, I don’t eat peanuts since they can cause many health issues (see THIS POST in case you’re curious), but even if I did eat peanuts I’d think twice before consuming those chemical filled Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. Just check out their ingredients below.
PEANUTS; SUGAR; DEXTROSE; VEGETABLE OIL (COCOA BUTTER, PALM, SHEA, SUNFLOWER AND/OR SAFFLOWER OIL); CHOCOLATE; NONFAT MILK; CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF: MILK FAT; LACTOSE (MILK); WHEY (MILK); SALT; SOY LECITHIN; PGPR, EMULSIFIER; TBHQ (PRESERVATIVE); VANILLIN, ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR.
I will admit, I used to LOVE them when I was a kid and they were by far my favorite to get in my Easter basket! But when you’re 8 years old, rarely do you ever look at ingredients before consuming something (and you shouldn’t be at that age anyways!). Of course as we get older, wiser, and more aware of what we put (and don’t put) in our bodies, our diets change (hopefully for the better). But that doesn’t mean we don’t miss those childhood favorites! So, I give you….my adult (and kid) approved HEALTHY alternative!

I find this whole IBS thing overwhelming. I’ve always had some “stomach” issues growing up, more related to nerves and stress, but I had my gallbladder out about 3 years back and since then, exactly like you describe on the Dr’s show;
Periods where I go 10+ times per day, then weeks without a movement. The pain is unreal, I get it before and during a movement and it’s so bad I have almost passed out. TMI but, we’re all here for the same reason! – frequently, I just pass mucus, doesn’t even smell. I’ve also passed white faeces.
At the moment, I’m not losing or gaining weight (I don’t even understand HOW that’s possible but here we are) the only reason I still eat is because I know I have to. Every test I’ve had has been fine, though my Dr’s seem loathe to actually do a significant scan or a colonoscopy, so I’m fighting for that right now. I feel like the diagnosis of IBS is a bit of a cop out.. but after seeing your story, maybe IBS really can be as bad as I am experiencing?
So, I’m going to try your recipes, I’m in the UK, so hopefully I can source these ingredients. And I ADORE reeces peanut butter cups, so this recipe is going to be fun!
This was awesome! I altered it a bit based on what I had on the cabinets (chocolate nuzest, 1 TBSP cashew butter 1 TBSP sunflower butter and added some semi sweet chocolate chips to the Santa Barbara discs for coating and my sugar fix. New. Favorite. Thing. Thank you so much for helping me satisfy my Reeses egg cravings.
Hi Bethany! I love your recipes!! I dont have nuzest protein, I was thinking about almond flour, do you think it can work? I really want to try these, but I dont have any kind of protein..
Hi Svetlana,
I’m sorry, but you need Nuzest to create the bulk and almond flour won’t work.
Hey Bethany! My FMD does not want me to consume pea protein. Can I sub my collegen for the Nuzest in your recipes?
Hi Denise,
No you can’t because collagen dissolves in water and Nuzest acts as a “Flour” and gives bulk.
I only have chocolate nuzest! I’m going to attempt it and maybe have chocolate peanut butter chocolate eggs? Ha! So much chocolate!
oooo now I’m intrigued! haha
I am excited to try these!!!!! Yum!
Will try this 🙏😍 thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Love it! Can’t wait to try
Look amazing!
Oops, I meant Nuzest protein.
So perfectly timed! I don’t handle pea protein very well, but you’ve inspired me to try and make these using coconut butter and maybe a little gelatin or something. I’ll tag you on insta if I make em!! 🙂
Oooo now I am curious!! haha Cant’ wait!
Is there anything that can replace the nixes then protein ? It’s too expensive for me to buy right now . ?
Sorry hun, you need the protein.
Can you use a different kind of protein like vital proteins collagen peptides?
Hi Katie,
No you can’t because collagen does not give bulk like Nuzest does.
Looks delicious! What brand was that powdered almond butter you showed in your IG stories?
Hi Brittany,
I think you were referring to “PBandMe”? That was not used in this recipe and will not work instead of Nuzest 🙂 But I hope you give this a try!
Amazing! Gotta try this!
