The last time I had pork (bacon, ham, etc.) was over 12 years ago….and I will NEVER eat it again. I don’t miss it. And here’s why you might want to consider ditching the pig as well (if you’re vegan or vegetarian, then you don’t need to worry, but for all you bacon lovers….READ!!!!)
Did you know that pigs carry a variety of parasites in their bodies and meat? Some of these parasites are difficult to kill even when cooking!
It’s estimated that 70 percent of factory farmed pigs have pneumonia when they go to the slaughterhouse! It’s so bad that they only way to keep these pigs barely alive at times is to misuse and overuse antibiotics, which trickles down to us.
Another issue with the pig is that it has very few sweat glands and can barely sweat. Sweat glands are a tool the body uses to be rid of toxins. This leaves more toxins in the pig’s body.
This worm parasite is very commonly found in pork, and worms make their homes in the muscles of the pig. Next stop? The unknowing human body who consumes this infected meat flesh.
In addition, pigs are primary carriers of:
• Taenia solium tapeworm
• Hepatitis E virus (HEV)
• PRRS (Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome)
• Nipah virus
• Menangle virus
Each of these parasites and viruses can lead to serious health problems that can last for years, and may never go away.
THIS IS WHY I DON’T EAT PORK OF ANY KIND (bacon, ham, etc.) AND I HONESTLY DON’T MISS IT. Opt for grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, and wild caught fish.
