Who wants some healthy “caramel” squares?! Raise your hands, tell a friend, and send smoke signals to spread the word that these “caramel” gummies are full of protein and gut healing!
Ingredients:
1 cup dates (deglet or medjool)
1 cup water
3 Tbsp of Further Food’s Grass-Fed Gelatin (15% off: lilsipper)
Santa Barbara unsweetened chocolate for coating (15% off: lilsipper15)
Directions:
1. Soak dates in a mason jar with 1 cup of water in fridge for at least 5 hours or overnight (recommended) to soften.
-
Blend dates with soaking water in a small, bullet/compact blender until silky smooth. Add gelatin and blend again until well mixed (the color will slightly turn “beige”)
-
Pour date puree into molds of choice (if you don’t have molds you can pour it all into a glass dish) and refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
-
If coating in chocolate, melt chocolate of choice now and set aside.
-
Once your “caramel” has set, remove from molds (if using a glass dish, cut into desired shape) and coat with chocolate (if using). Place back in fridge or freezer until chocolate has hardened.
-
Store in fridge or freezer and enjoy whenever!
