If you have a difficult time digesting meat but need to get in essential proteins only animals can provide for optimal health, try pureeing it! I’ve been doing it for years now, and let me tell you…I love it! It’s great as a dip (think hummus) or alone with a spoon. I don’t add any spices, oils, or condiments and eat it plain. You can learn to appreciate the pure taste.
Benefits of pureed meat:
• You absorb it quickly
• You absorb MORE of the nutrients.
• You digest it easier because your body has less work to do breaking down the proteins.
• Less bloating (or none at all!) and you don’t feel “weighed down”.
Ingredients:
Chicken/turkey breast or ground chicken/turkey/beef.
Directions:
1. Poach meat by boiling it in enough water so the meat is entirely covered.
2. Once water tarts to boil, reduce heat and simmer until meat is fully cooked.
3. With a slotted spoon, transfer meat into a blender (do not add liquid) and puree until smooth.
4. Store in containers in the fridge up to 4 days.
*Notes:
You can cook your meat ahead of time and puree it cold after it’s been in the fridge, but a tiny bit of water will be needed to facilitate blending. Don’t add too much water or else it will be “soupy”.
Hi, I actually gave up meat 4 months ago because I was having 2 much joint pain, inflammation, swelling in my legs, foggy head, etc. I have a ton if food intolerances. I’ve been eating vegetarian/pescatarian and have been feeling Amazing! I wonder if this would allow me to consume meat again?
Hi Edith,
Each person if different but feel free to try and report back! Many of my followers have experienced positive outcomes from doing this. 🙂
Hi Bethany!!! I’m BEYOND HAPPY that you’ve finally created a blog, it legit made my whole week! Quick question – do you store the pureed meat in the freezer or fridge if meal prepping on a Sunday for the rest of the week? Also, do you need to re-heat after taking it out, or do you eat it cold after allowing to thaw for awhile? And last question (sorry for so many, there’s so much I have to learn from you!) do you make it a point to eat grass-fed/pasture-raised meats only? They’re not readily available where I live 🙁
Thank you so much!
Hi Denise,
Thank you for all the love and support and I’m excited that you’re excited about by blog! 🙂
I don’t freeze it as i’ve done it before and after it thaws the texture is not so pleasant haha. So I only make enough to last up to 4 days (no more) and store it in the fridge.
If you can’t find grass-fed / pasture raised meat, then obviously get what you can, but that is best if it’s available. I hope it helps as I’ve received countless testimonies on my Instagram from followers expressing how’s it’s helped them and their family members.
